Thanks to an order guide released by Nissan, we have the skinny on just the type of edition Nissan is offering for those GT-R lovers that require a little more luxury for their driving experience. Along with five other version of the GT-R - "Pure Edition," "Black Edition," "Premium Edition," "SpecV," and "ClubTrack" - Nissan will be offering the "EGOIST" model. This model is the first and only Nissan GT-R in the world exclusively created by Takumi, or "master with greatest skills."
This unique edition will provide a great amount of interior and exterior modifications to provide the ultimate GT-R. Each unit will be unique, as customers will be able to choose from a combination of 20 interior colors, and that is just the beginning.
Power for the EGOIST edition will continue to be provided by the standard 3.8-liter V6 twin turbo engine with 530 HP at 6,400rpm and a maximum torque of 612Nm delivered from 3,200 to 6,000 rpm. All this means is that Nissan has focused more on the look of this version, while saving the power upgrades for the Club Track edition.
Prices for the 2012 Nissan GT-R EGOIST will be announced closer to its official market launch, but check out the details after the jump to see what Nissan has in store for their latest GT-R.
Update 02/08/2011: Nissan has revealed new images of the special edition GT-R Egoist. Also we have the official performance numbers: a sprint from 0 to 60 mph made in 3.046 seconds while top speed is 195 mph.
Exterior and Interior
The difference between a standard GT-R and the Egoist version is provided by a black carbon rear spoiler (also used in the SpecV) that provides stable aerodynamic performance. The car sits on lightweight and highly rigid forged aluminum-alloy wheels offered in five-layer Blue Sword Chrome Color Coating. The exterior look is finished by a Titanium exhaust system.
The most impressive changes, however, have been made on the interior. Customers can choose a combination of interior colors among 20 choices, four upper area interior colors, and 10 lower area interior colors. Seats are an exclusive quilted design with single and double stitching combined in a reticular pattern. Enhanced body grip performance (suitable for racing circuit driving), smoothness, and fit are all provided.
A very interesting feature of the interior is a Wajima Lacquer (Maki-e) GT-R Emblem placed on the center of the steering wheel that changes its beautiful coloring of Maki-e changes as time goes by.
Customers will also get a special Bose Precision Sound System with carbon composite-based woofers, which can cancel vibrations through their high rigidity and damping. In addition, sound quality is adjusted by Bose exclusively for each owner, depending on individual driving position.
Engine
Under the hood there is the same engine as in any standard GT-R: a 3.8-liter V6 twin turbo engine that delivers a total of 530hp at 6,400rpm and 612Nm of torque at 3,200 - 6,000rpm. Mated to a 6 speed dual clutch transmission, the engine will sprint the GT-R from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, all this with a fuel consumption of only 8.5km/L.
When Can I Get One?
The 2012 Nissan GT-R EGOIST edition will be a Japan-only model and will be available in February 2011 at a starting price of 15,000,300 Yen (about US$184,500 at the current rates).
